Thrilled — NPR’s list of top thrillers

NPR’s just posted its top 100 list of listener-nominated thriller novels, a much more broad selection of classic and popular titles than I’d expect. Unsurprisingly, Stephen King places high on the list (although personally, he’s not the first writer I think of when I want to read a thriller), followed by strong showings from Dan Brown, Michael Crichton, Stieg Larsson, and Dennis Lehane.

Here’s the top 10 (click through to request a copy):

1. The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris
2. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
3. Kiss the Girls by James Patterson
4. The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum
5. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote (Our November 2010 Read with Me pick!)
6. The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
7. The Shining by Stephen King
8. And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
9. The Hunt tor Red October by Tom Clancy
10. The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

What do you think of the list? Which book would make your list of top thrillers?
