On the structure of The Monsters of Templeton

How much does the structure of the novel, incorporating fictional diaries and letters, contribute to the story? Would The Monsters of Templeton have been as effective if told in linear form? Or in third-person?

  1. I’ve wondered that myself…. I know the book is available on audiobook also. I found myself referring back to some of the illustrations and the family tree over and over. I can’t imagine the audiobook being as enjoyable without the illustrations.
