Finishing The Thirteenth Tale

What comparisons can you make among the women, particularly with relationships between mothers and children and between sisters (especially twins), in The Thirteenth Tale?  How are Margaret and Vida similar and how are they different? Are you satisfied with Vida’s last tale?

The publisher calls the book a “love letter to reading.”  How much do you agree with this assessment? Can you make any comparisons with a previous Read with Me selection, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which has been called a love letter to books?

The Thirteenth Tale was generally very well-received upon publication. Is it worthy of all the praise? How likely are you to recommend this book to a friend?
