Evanelle’s gift

In the early chapters of Garden Spells, we learn about Evanelle’s gift, her compulsion to give someone an object that he or she will soon need, specifically her intense need to buy her husband a new suit, only to have him wear it at his own funeral a week later. In recalling the memory, Evanelle wonders what might have happened if she hadn’t bought him that new suit. What do you think might have happened?
