Tana French’s In the Woods received the Edgar® Award for Best First Novel by an American Author from Mystery Writers of America. The other nominees were Missing Witness by Gordon Campbell (HarperCollins – William Morrow), Snitch Jacket by Christopher Goffard (The Rookery Press), Head Games by Craig McDonald (Bleak House Books), and Pyres by Derek Nikitas (St. Martin’s Minotaur). Where past and present collide

What do you think about the parallels between Knocknaree and Rob’s own story? In Knocknaree, the archeologists are busy trying to unearth the past before developers come and build a highway; in Rob’s case, he’s struggling to remember what happened to his friends all those years ago before it comes out that he should have been removed from the current murder investigation. What might the woods represent in each case?
